Watercolour - Painting Seascapes (SFY) [EDF310NZ]: OverviewThis 1-day course will through a series of practical exercises and demonstrations establish a range of watercolour techniques which can be used when painting a seascape
What will we cover?
Trying different techniques to help you understand movement, colour and various methods used to represent the sea. You will learn and practice the use of line, tone, colour, texture and composition.
Gain confidence in using wash techniques, dry brush etc. and be encouraged to take part in group discussions. Have access to one to one support.
The overall aim is to help you develop and complete a painting of the sea using the techniques practiced.
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
All abilities
Those with some experience of drawing & painting would be helpful but not essential. Useful for those who need a refresher as well as those with little experience.
As our courses are taught in English, please contact us if you have any concerns about your level of English.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Bring whatever painting materials you may already have purchased. Also pencils, eraser, A4 and or A3 watercolour pad/paper, a basic set of watercolour paints, brushes, palette, tissues and water jar. You may also like to bring some of your own photographic images of seascapes
What can I do when I finish the course?
To progress on to other longer courses in other media, to join other art groups, societies or to develop further within the same class, meet like-minded people and make friends

Learners are expected to bring their own materials
Some less common or unusual materials may be brought in by tutor or instruction given on where you can purchase items.
