This course is the perfect way to continue your journey to an amazing career in the engineering sector or to progress to higher education through applied learning. In addition to the core engineering qualification, you will gain employability skills, for example – cognitive and problem solving skills, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills as well as transferable knowledge and skills for higher education. Engineering covers a broad variety of roles and it involves the application of scientific principles and practical knowledge to transform ideas and materials into products and systems safely and support them during their lifetime. The qualification focuses on a broad range of engineering specialist areas including engineering principles and mathematics, health and safety, teamwork and interpreting and creating computer-aided engineering drawings, design and manufacture of products and commercial principles and understanding and application of quality systems.

What do I need to know?
You will be required to have at least 5 GCSE’s grade A to C or grade 4-9, with a minimum grade 5 in Maths and minimum grade C in Science or a Merit or above in a Level 2 BTEC First Diploma. Non standard UK qualifications will be accepted as long as the qualification is considered equivalent using the NARIC guidance.
