What will I learn?
Further Mathematics is an ideal A-Level for those who wish to continue onto university, as along with the wide range of Maths skills you’ll learn, it also teaches you how to think in a very logical and structured manner. Universities really like this, because it will help you succeed in your degree and in future employment. Run alongside A-Level Mathematics, you’ll be studying core mathematics modules that will help your problem-solving abilities in a number of different scenarios. You’ll also explore new topics, including complex numbers and inductive proofs. As well as Statistics modules, you’ll look at the applications of maths through Mechanics and Decision, focusing on real-world situations and understanding how the subject can help with jobs in engineering, computer programming and physics.
