What will I learn?
If you’re looking towards a successful future in the professional dance world, this BTEC Extended Diploma is the ideal course to develop your artistic, creative and practical skills and find out more about working in the industry. This is a very practical qualification, designed to introduce you to some of the styles, skills and techniques you’ll need to enjoy a rewarding career in dance, with a focus on some of the most current, highly-relevant trends in the industry at the moment, like Urban (Street) Dance, Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Contemporary. You’ll also study for an additional qualification with the ISTD at Intermediate Foundation and Intermediate level as part of the course, as well as taking a closer look at the varying styles of different choreographers and practitioners like Diaghilev, Martha Graham, Wayne McGregor, and Cunningham. From a focus on fitness and anatomy, to preparations for auditions, the whole course will help you understand and succeed in this business.
