Course description
Picture Framing - 3D Framing:
This course will take students through the underlying principles of 3D (Box) Framing as well as guiding them through a specific project to illustrate it. Framing for 3D objects construction is more complex, requiring a box to be made to house the object and a frame for the front. Different methods of construction will be discussed.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This principles covered follow on from those in our Art and Photography Framing Weekend. You will need some experience of framing and the tools and terminology used. Our Basics of Framing one day workshop would give you this.

Training Course Content
You will learn how to produce a simple 3D Frame for an object by;
- building a display box / frame;
- creating a lining from mount board;
- cutting suitable mounts to enhance the display;
- building a frame for the display box and cutting a glazed panel;
- finding out about the options for staging / showing / attaching objects;
- assembling the whole, framed object;
- using the appropriate fixings for hanging this type of frame.
