The demand for skilled and experienced leaders who can guide their firms or organisations to compete in today’s highly competitive, fast-paced, global, Science and Technology based economy has never been higher. This course will develop the leadership skills necessary for scientists and engineers to exercise leadership, responsibility and initiative throughout their career.
Focused around a one-day intensive seminar the 5-credit Postgraduate-level module explores the relationship between leadership and good ethical practice. Delegates will be introduced to the principles and practice of leadership to enable them to identify and develop the elements of leadership and management pertinent to their own workplace and particular interest.
The aims of this course are to:
- Introduce delegates to the principles and practice of leadership within a Science and Technology sector context.
- Develop leadership knowledge and skills to support delegate’s future career aspirations.
- Explore what it means to be an ethical leader.

The course has been designed to enable existing and aspiring mid-level career scientists and engineers to harness the practices and theories of leadership and ethics within the context of the science and technology sector.
