This apprenticeship will help you develop excellent customer service skills, suitable for hundreds of job roles across the service sector. Wherever you work, you will face elements of customer service – working in offices, shops, call centres, hospitals. This apprenticeship outlines a clear and practical understanding of the key elements to successful customer service and how to work in a customer facing role.
This apprenticeship teaches you the skills to provide excellent customer service, and can be applied to hundreds of job roles across many different sectors, from government to telecommunications. Good customer service is key to the success of any business or organisation. As a customer service apprentice, you’ll probably work at the front end of an employer’s business activities and regularly assist customers. Duties are likely to include making sure that customers are dealt with in a positive, reliable and pleasant way – whether that’s by offering advice, answering questions or handling complaints. Completing this apprenticeship is a way of providing evidence of skills that will serve you well in virtually any industry – so it’s a very good way to move forward, even if you’re still undecided about your future career. Examples of subject areas include: - Deliver customer service - Understand customers - Principles of customer service - Understand employer organisations -Manage personal performance and development. Optional units include: - Communicate verbally with customers - Promote additional products and/or services to customers - Deliver customer service whilst working on customers’ premises - Resolve customer service problems - Use social media to deliver customer service - Health and safety procedures in the workplace - Principles of equality and diversity within the workplace. The qualification is achieved by gaining practical experience onsite. You will also be required to achieve a Level 1 award in English and maths and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
Upon completion of this course students will be able to find work within the service sector or alternatively continue their studies with the Level 3 Customer Service Advanced Apprenticeship. This course opens up a host of career opportunities.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Applicants will be assessed and interviewed where they will need to demonstrate that they will cover the range required by the relevant NVQ at work. GCSEs in English and maths A*-D or 3-9. Some employers may also specify additional qualifications.
