Prepare for job roles requiring in-depth knowledge and competence in the use of particular systems and software. You will also learn wide-ranging transferable skills and the ability to develop and test solutions to improve workplace productivity through the use of IT. You will gain skills and knowledge to work effectively and efficiently with IT systems, communications and productivity tools and applications in a range of job roles and industry sectors.
Examples of subject areas include: Understanding the potential of IT Developing personal and team effectiveness using IT Setting up an IT system Using collaborative technologies Database software Design software IT software fundamentals The qualification is achieved by gaining practical experience at work. You will also be required to achieve a Level 2 award in English, maths and ICT and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
This apprenticeship could lead to a broad range of IT careers such as application helpdesk support, office manager, personal assistant, website manager, teaching assistant or sales account manager. This course opens up a host of career opportunities.

Employment at a suitable level - most employers ask for GCSEs in English and maths, but may have additional specific requirements.
