This apprenticeship covers training in a range of plumbing systems, components and their installation. The plumbing industry is a key part of the UK’s construction industry. It’s a highly competitive field that employs skilled craftspeople and technicians who work with a wide range of materials and technologies. As a plumbing apprentice, you’ll learn about the installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and components. You’ll also take a certificate in basic plumbing skills, covering safety, cold water and hot water systems, sanitation, and central heating.
Examples of subject areas include: Maintain effective plumbing working relationships Install non-complex plumbing systems and components Decommission non-complex plumbing systems Maintain non-complex plumbing systems and components You will also be required to achieve a Level 2 award in English and maths and at Level 1 in ICT and complete a workbook relating to employment rights and responsibilities.
After completion of this course there is the option to progress onto the Plumbing Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3. This course opens up a host of career opportunities.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Employment in a suitable job role. GCSEs in maths and English language grade A-C/4-9. ICT and science is also preferred at GCSE grade A-D/3-9. Some employers may also specify additional qualifications. We will provide individual advice and guidance for applicants who do not meet these entry requirements.
