International Economic Policy & Analysis MA - postgraduate Master's programme in London
This Master of Arts (MA) programme in International Economic Policy and Analysis is designed to help you develop your skills in applying economic analysis to business problems and policy issues, which can often be highly complex and hard to pin down.
The course has a strong foundation in theory, but focuses primarily on the practical aspects of applying economic techniques to real-world problems. The goal is to provide you with the expertise needed to apply economic principles in the support of policy and strategy development. In addition, the programme aims to help you develop the crucial communication skills needed to effectively communicate the insights that economic analysis can provide to diverse audiences.
This highly competitive programme attracts a great number of international students as it offers the opportunity of an 8-week internship and reflects the main areas of international business. Westminster Business School is the only English university to have secured GES (Government Economic Services) status for a postgraduate course in economics.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This graduate-level course at Westminster Business School is specifically aimed at those with a genuine interest in the application of economics to real-world situations.
Candidates should hold a first degree from a recognised institution (minimum Lower Second Class), or international equivalent. If their first degree is in Economics or a cognate discipline such as Business, Geography, Development Studies or Mathematics, a minimum Lower Second Class (or international equivalent) is acceptable.
The University operates a system of awarding credit for accredited prior learning either through formal study (APL) or experience (APEL). Those who do not have English as a first language will require a IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 6 in each element.

Successful candidates receive a Master of Arts degree in International Economic Policy & Analysis from the University of Westminster - Westminster Business School.
The curriculum has been created in conjunction with the Government Economic Service (GES), the major employer of economics graduates in the UK. Indeed, the University of Westminster is the only English university to have secured GES recommended status for a postgraduate programme in economics.
