This course is run by Peter Foley who has over 30 years of experience in the delivery of engineering projects. Peter has project managed a wide variety of construction projects for global client organizations. He has in-depth knowledge and experience in the resolution of contract disputes by a variety of methods; planning and supervision of ordinary and special maintenance programs as the owner’s engineer. Peter has also worked on major mechanical and electrical shutdown maintenance projects and he was particularly involved in asset condition assessment and valuation. Peter is a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia and College of Civil Engineers Australia.

The Basic Civil Engineering course has been developed to provide Static, Inspection and Maintenance Engineers with a fundamental knowledge of civil design and construction methods that will assist them in their normal work and help them identify problems that they may encounter. The course uses highly interactive, solution driven case studies exercises to enhance learning.
The course will include 12 modules over the five days which will introduce participants to the various elements to be covered. Modules will be delivered by lecture and tutorial style worked examples with assessment at the end of each module to ensure that concepts have been grasped before proceeding to the next element.
