Hello there,

thanks for posting.

We have a number of qualification and short CPD courses for dental professionals that you can see at this link. The one that is best for you will depend on your exact ambitions.

If you want to be a dental support worker, then there are no specific requirements in terms of training, though any relevant academic or vocational qualification will be an advantage.Training will mostly be completed on-the-job, and since your duties will be mainly administrative, it is not necessary for you to have a very thorough technical understanding of dentistry.

If, however, you are potentially interested in being a dental technician or a dental nurse, then you will need to complete an approved qualification. You can find a list of suitable institutions and courses on the General Dental Council website. For example, City & Guilds offers a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (QCF), which is a suitable route to qualification for dental nurses. You will find a number of colleges and independent training providers that are accredited to deliver it. For other professions, you will instead need to find an approved Dental School, which is usually a University or a College.

Hope this makes everything a bit clearer!

Do post again if you have more questions.

Best regards,
The Findcourses.co.uk Team
