Hi,

thanks for posting.

In England, social work as a profession is regulated by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), which means that all social workers need to be registered and meet the standards set by them to practice.

As it currently stands, you will need to have an honours or postgraduate degree in social work that is approved by the HCPC. You can find more information about this on the HCPC website, as well as from the two main professional associations for social work:

Both associations provide lists of approved training institutions (mainly Universities) offering suitable programmes, so you should be able to find all of the information you need there. Bear in mind that in the field of social work it is also important to have previous experience in a paid or voluntary position, so you should focus on that as well.

Hope this helps to give you a good starting point!

If you have any additional questions, just post them below and we will do our best to help you out with them.
