City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing Course for Experienced Plumbers

If you have been working as a Plumber for a minimum of 3 years but have never achieved a Plumbing qualification, then this fast-track 6035 assessment process may be just what you need.

This isnt a training course; it is an assessment process to establish your knowledge as a Plumber and to show that you can meet the competence requirements of this level 2 Plumbing Diploma. As a time served Plumber, we will require you to provide evidence to show that you have been undertaking a variety of plumbing work for a minimum of 3 years. This can be by way of employer references and witness testimonies etc. Please see our additional information section, specifically with regards to soldering and pipe bending.

Able Skills has developed this process to assist experienced workers currently working in the plumbing industry to achieveC&G 6035.

These qualifications are unit structured with:

• Practical Units:These are achieved by a mix of knowledge and practical activities in simulated conditions within the centre.
• Knowledge Units:These units are assessed by multi-choice tests / assignments undertaken in the training centre.

This Experienced Worker route will require you to:

• Provide evidence that you have a minimum of 3 years plumbing experience
• Undertake study at home to prepare you for the online exams in centre
• Undertake practical assessments in centre

You may want to be assessed for NVQ also, if this is the case, please seeNVQ Level 2 Plumbing Assessments. Alternatively, with a plumbing qualification under your belt, you may want to move in to thegas industry. In addition, you could considerWater Regulations,Energy Efficiency(Part L) orVented & Unvented Hot Water Systems(G3). Training is available at Able Skills for any of the above listed courses.

Experienced butnon-qualified Plumberswill be provided with a Home Study pack which covers the individual theory units which are then assessed in centre by way of online multiple-choice exams. Candidates suitable for this fast-track routewill be allocated 10 daysin centreto complete all practical tasks and the associated online exams. Candidates will need to bring their own tools with them to complete the practical tasks.

This is an assessment process based on the fact that candidates are industry experienced and have been undertaking plumbing work for in excess of 3 years and therefore, no training will be provided (other than for LCS where this is required)

Please ensure that you have extensive experience of soldering and pipe bending as this will play a large part across the various assessments being undertaken. If you do not have such experience, you may wish to consider our Home Study option where full training will be provided.

All of our courses take place at our dedicated training centre in Dartford, Kent. The centre is easily accessible by road, being just 10 minutes from junction 1a on the M25. We are only a short walk from Dartford train station which is served by frequent trains taking 35 minutes from central London. For anyone travelling from further away, we have our own accommodation available at only £25 per night.

The cost for this process is £1500.00 including vat. A £500 deposit will release the home study pack and associated documents and the balance can then be paid over the 2 weeks allocated in centre.
