Course description

During this course, students will learn how politics, power, passion and pride took the country out of the medieval period and into a new age. Students will learn the marginalization of Catholic England; the countries 2nd successive queen; Elizabeth's suitors and favourites; the great age of entertainment leqading to Shakespeare; the country stands up to the European powerhouses; the issue of Mary Queen of Scots; the first purpose built stately homes and Elizabeth's famous politicians.
