Course description

“Strategy” can be a vague concept that needs a process to enable it to achieve the necessary focus that can be translated into aligned, measurable plans to communicate clearly to everyone.

“Leadership” can be equally vague and needs to be understood as a driver of change to allocate and direct resources so that the desired return on capital can be achieved and sustained.

Communicating the vision and values, defining corporate strategy and evaluating the management of its delivery are important responsibilities for the board. We will help you understand these important areas and establish the linkages between them and the executive mangers’ responsibilities.

This course explores practical approaches to developing strategic thinking and analysis skills, and implementing a strategic management process that balances the need for a single corporate strategy with subsidiary business models and strategies.

Boards that understand governance as a practical concept demonstrating accountability and alignment of interests will allocate and direct resources that deliver a sustained return on invested capital. Executive teams that are well-governed can focus on achieving the strategic aims and goals of the organisation.

We offer a systemic view of strategic leadership and operational management to help you to achieve results through strategic alignment.

Please note, we welcome delegates from the private, public, and third (voluntary) sectors as well as quasi-governmental organisations that are expected to operate commercially while adhering to political goals or constraints.
