Course description

Introduction to Veterinary Nursing (Level 3)

Veterinary Nurses support vets to help provide nursing care for sick, injured and hospitalised animals. They also spend much of their time educating pet owners on high standards of animal care (husbandry) and welfare.

Our excellent course covers everything you are likely to need to prepare yourself for a career as a Veterinary Nurse, or to gain some real insight into the work they do. You also learn how to care for your own animals.

Course specifics include Veterinary Medical Terminology, basic small animal anatomy and physiology, handling animals, diet and nutrition, disease and infection control, general animal care, surgery and the emotive subject of euthanasia.

Youll also learn how to deal with small animal emergencies, to care for sick animals, and to provide for their general safety and welfare.

This satisfying and stimulating course from Cambridge Open College could easily lead to the start of a fulfilling new career. It provides masses of information and guidance on the vocational aspects and ensures your proficiency and success in these subject areas. Successful completion results in the award of an Endorsed Qualification under Focus Awards FQP (Focus on Quality Provision) Scheme.
