The CMI (Chartered Management Institute) Level 7 suite of qualifications is designed for strategic and senior managers looking to progress still further in their leadership development and build on their strategic management abilities.
With a focus on the skills required to develop effective inter-organisational strategy, it is available in four different formats; the Award, Certificate, Diploma or Extended in Strategic Leadership and Management.
This distance learning course gives candidates the opportunity to follow any of these routes, choosing from a wide range of units to develop their knowledge of:
- Strategic Performance Management
- Financial Management
- Change Management
- Strategic Marketing
In addition to these core areas, learners can choose between a number of more specialised units focusing on other key business topics, such as strategic planning, risk management and strategic leadership.
The flexible training format allows candidates to develop a personalised timetable with their tutor in order to complete the qualification at the pace that best suits their needs and other commitments.

The CMI Level 7 Qualifications Strategic Management are designed for current or aspiring senior managers looking to develop their strategic management knowledge and skills.
Assessment & Qualification
Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments.
Successful candidates will be awarded the CMI Level 7 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Strategic Management, depending on how many credits they achieve.
Training Course Content
Students must complete any of the units below to make up at least 6 credits to gain the Award, 13 credits to gain the Certificate and 39 credits to gain the Diploma.
To gain the Extended Diploma, you must complete all of the units in Group A along with a minimum of 18 credits from Group B.
