How do I learn?
Throughout your course you will be given access to the tailored learning materials and tutor-marked assessments. Your tutor will be on hand either over the phone, text or email to support and guide you. All feedback that you receive will be there to help you to continuously improve and develop your skills. The goal of you passing your GCSE with the highest grade possible is central to our learning materials, teaching, and feedback.

There are no set entry requirements for this IGCSE, but a good standard of written English is necessary to pass an IGCSE.

Training Course Content
The course you will be following is called "Edexcel International GCSE in English Language (Specification A) (4EA1)".
It is graded 9-1 (where 9 is the highest grade).
Paper 1 (4EA1/01): Non-fiction texts and transactional writing.
To prepare for Paper 1 you will study the contemporary non-fiction texts from the set anthology and will explore, analyse and compare how writers construct their work. You will develop your own writing skills, so that you can create your own transactional writing (writing for different audiences and for different purposes). Paper 1 is worth 60% of the IGCSE.
Paper 2 (4EA1/02): Poetry and prose texts and imaginative writing.
For Paper 2 you will study ten set texts: five poems and five short stories or excerpts from novels. You will learn how to understand, analyse and discuss the texts. You will have one piece of creative writing to write on this paper, and you will be taught how to construct and develop your imaginative writing ready for this question. Paper 2 is worth 40% of the IGCSE.
Your course is structured to fully prepare you for your exams and there is no coursework or speaking and listening component to complete.
