Technical Writing In-house Course – bespoke training by Emphasis Training
This in-house technical-writing course will help technical writers communicate their subject to a wider readership of non-technical writers. While technical teams are a great source of knowledge, much of that expertise can be wasted if its members are unable to communicate it. This course provides simple techniques for making technical writing more accessible.
This bespoke course uses workplace-relevant exercises and examples to teach technical writers to produce written communication for both technical and non-technical readers. Whether it be technical reports, instruction manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) or research reports and financial documents, this course will enable delegates to communicate information clearly and effectively. While working on practical exercises in small groups, each delegate will receive the support required to make the greatest impact in their writing, as quickly as possible.
Pre- and post-course support
This course includes a pre-course analysis of technical writing samples from each participant. This allows Emphasis Training to identify areas for improvement and tailor training programmes to meet those specific needs.

- Laying out your report effectively, including illustrations and graphics
- Avoiding poor punctuation and grammar
- Constructing clear paragraphs and sounds sentences
- Using succinct language and only the appropriate level of technical jargon.
