Creative Writing - Continuation

This is a writing course which provides a supportive environment for writers who have already started, or have completed the beginners course, have been writing for some time, or have enough confidence to take part in a workshop based class. A typical session has two elements. The first provides the opportunity for people to share their work with the group. They may bring either a completed exercise from the previous week, or an extract from a work in progress. Emphasis is placed on the importance of giving and receiving constructive criticism, so that the experience is positive, rather than destructive. The second half provides practical guidance on the following: characterisation, dialogue, point of view, description, setting, plotting and shaping. By the end of the course, you will have been given the opportunity to: develop your skills as a writer, share your work with other writers in a creative and supportive environment, become a better critic of your work and that of others.
