Free Webinar: Building Mental Fitness
A sustainable approach using Positive Intelligence
‘If you are physically fit you can climb steep mountains without physical stress. If you are mentally fit you can handle life’s great challenges without mental stress or other negative emotions.’
Mental fitness is your capacity to respond to life’s challenges with a positive rather than negative mindset. In Shirzad’s positive intelligence terms, this is a question of using your self-command ‘muscle’ to enable your Sage mind to overcome your Saboteurs.
Do any of these sound familiar?
- You beat yourself up for mistakes or shortcomings.
- You focus on what’s wrong with others rather than appreciating them.
- You get into inferior/superior comparisons.
- You get easily distracted or scattered.
- You are anxious, with chronic doubts about yourself and others.
- You are driven to having things perfect.
- You have a strong need to be liked by people and attempt to earn it by helping, pleasing, rescuing, or flattering.
- You say ‘yes’ to things you don’t want to do.
- You get lost in comforting routines and habits, procrastinating when there’s an unpleasant task to be done.
These habitual ‘saboteur’ responses become hardwired in the brain and are the source of a huge amount of negative emotion, stress, anxiety, guilt and blame. This can have a huge impact on your performance, how you communicate, how you work in teams, how you minimise and resolve conflict. We all have these Saboteurs and they affect our relationships, our peace of mind, our wellbeing and, ultimately, our happiness.
This session will show you how to build sustainable mental fitness, using your three core ‘mental muscles’. You will leave the session with tips and strategies that you can apply immediately, regardless of whether you choose to explore the ‘Positive Intelligence’ approach in greater detail later.
