Counselling Skills Diploma Level 3 (RQF)

decorative imageThis qualification, fully regulated under the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework), is intended for individuals who have an interest in counselling and wish to develop their counselling skills as a key aspect of their roles in a wide array of professional domains.

The primary objective of this regulated RQF qualification is to provide learners with a more profound knowledge of how to apply counselling skills in their daily lives and workplaces, as well as the underlying principles guiding the effective use of these skills.

Counselling skills are a fundamental element in fostering counselling relationships and facilitating assistance in various contexts. This course offers participants a solid grasp of these essential skills and their practical applicability, making it an ideal starting point for those pursuing a career in counselling.

The course requires learners to demonstrate how they can apply essential counselling skills by assessing the learners' practical capabilities. Although learners are required to demonstrate practical skills, this is a knowledge-based qualification and does not require a placement. NCC will provide full support to learners to be able to demonstrate these skills through role play/simulations.

To become a counsellor, you need to understand how to use core counselling skills and theoretical understanding. This course develops the learner's knowledge of counselling theories and counselling strategies. Learners will gain an understanding of a range of counselling skills and have the opportunity to examine some of the various schools of thought/theoretical models associated with them.

The course explores working ethically with counselling skills and aims to enhance knowledge of ethical frameworks and how they relate to counselling and anti-discriminatory practice.

After successfully completing this fully regulated (RQF) qualification, you will be able to take your studies to a higher level. You can use the gained UCAS points and knowledge when applying for university or progressing to further study. You can also use the skills you have gained to progress to a role in which counselling skills are required.
