Introduction to Marquetry Five Day Intensive

Marquetry is the traditional craft of creating pictures and patterns with different coloured timber veneers. Students will learn about timber veneers and how to select them, how to make a veneer packet, how to transcribe their design onto the packet, how to cut it using a fine fret saw, how to introduce shading and colour, how to assemble the pieces and fix them, and finally how to produce a fine finish on their work.
