The University of Nottingham

This course aims to improve theoretical skills specifically around critical case stabilization and monitoring, local anaesthetic techniques and fluid therapy. It also involves planning anaesthesia for more challenging cases. Delegates are encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • By the end of the course delegates should be able to;
  • Apply local anaesthetic techniques in small animal practice
  • Apply advanced vascular access, monitoring, PIVA and NMB techniques.
  • Recognise the need for fluid therapy in anaesthesia
  • Formulate an advanced anaesthetic case management plan
