Description:
Anterior composite restorations, especially the single central incisor is one of the hardest aesthetic procedures a clinician faces. Whilst much focus is made on polishing and shaping, it is indeed the whole process, from shade matching, preparation, isolation, adhesion and layering that play a much more important role in a long lasting successful restoration.
Aims:
This course aims to define each stage and provide clinicians with a clear structure when approaching any anterior composite in practice in order to have a predictable process for success.
Objectives:
To understand colour and the effect of dehydration on teeth and how to establish an accurate shade matching process. How to prepare the enamel for ideal bonding and then a putty index classic technique for a simplified layering approach to recreate accurate form and aesthetics
Learning Outcomes:
The candidate will be gain the skills to be able to predictably create an anterior composite restoration, utilising the latest techniques to successfully produce a long lasting aesthetic restorative result.
