Course description
This course will examine the Party Wall Act - including various other legislation that has a direct or indirect affect on the application of the Act - and the implications for party wall practitioners. It'll consider the responsibilities of all parties towards others including building owners, adjoining owners and contractors. It'll guide both the practitioner and designer towards the avoidance of possible pitfalls when dealing with a party wall situation. The course will consider the effect on the Act of the implementation of the Health and Safety at Work Act and it’s Appropriate Regulations as well as matters of trespass.
On this short course you'll:
- be able to understand the requirements and duties placed upon them by the Act
- be aware of other matters that must be taken into account when working under the Act
- understand the effects of failure to comply with the appropriate legislation
- understand the various duties placed on persons under the Act and other legislation in respect of works to the party wall
