The IOSH qualification Managing Safely certifies that candidates developed improved safety awareness and appreciation for safety measures in place. Managing Safely candidates learn how to assess and control risks, understand their responsibilities in relation to hazards, incident investigation and measuring performance as well as their role in protecting the environment.
In addition to attending training, candidates must pass an assessment at the end of the Managing Safely qualification which includes a multi-format assessment as well as a risk assessment project they must complete in their workplace within 2 weeks of their training. There are twenty-two questions in the multi-format assessment and delegates must earn 50% of marks in order to pass.
The IOSH Qualification Working Safely helps staff define hazard and risk in their role, identify common workplace hazards with the goal of improving safety performance as well as enhancing environmental protection. IOSH Working Safely is recognised by CSCS as an equivalent to a Level 1 Award in health and safety in a construction environment.
As with Managing Safely, Working Safely qualification candidates must pass a six multi-choice assessment, two mock paper assessments, and six hazard-spotting papers. In order to pass the assessment, candidates must achieve 50% marks on each section.
