It is quite difficult indeed! The matter unfortunately remains a bit unclear.

What we can tell you is that because nurses need such specialist knowledge (as well as a relevant degree) before being able to practice, virtually all courses in this category will be delivered by Universities and Colleges, rather than independent training providers. As we understand it, this applies to the ENB No. 136 (Renal Course) and No. 998 Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice too.

The best way to go is probably to search from the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) website, where you will find a list of approved programmes and institutions.

What we can help with here is more CPD-focused (Continuing Professional Development Courses) that you would take as a nurse once you are already qualified at degree level, which is now a requirement in the sector. In that case, you could browse through our Healthcare category and find some interesting options covering a broad spectrum of different topics.
These shorter (usually 1- or 2-day) courses are an ideal way to brush up on knowledge or gain new skills in a particular area for your CPD, without taking too much time away from work. In some cases they are accredited, in others not, but in both cases employers generally recognise them as relevant development programmes.
