Course description

A wide range of A Levels are available at Bracknell and Wokingham College. Every year, our students celebrate getting the results they need to take up offers from the universities of their choice. In 2019, more than 180 students received passing grades at A Level across our colleges in Bracknell, Oxford and Reading.

Here at Activate Learning, we provide you with a clear, practical career pathway. In other words, if you would like to enter a particular industry, we can advise what A Levels are best for you, dependent on your area of interest. This ensures that when you graduate, you'll have the best qualifications possible to enter your preferred career, or take the next step to another academic course.

You can pick three subjects from our business, science, communication, and social sciences pathways. See ‘What I'll Learn' below for more details.

You are also encouraged to pursue additional activities during your time with us, both to broaden your skills and prepare yourself for the steps following your A Levels. As part of your studies, you will also have access to:

  • laboratories with expert technician support
  • dedicated study spaces
  • IT suites and computer facilities
  • the opportunity to purchase discounted laptops through our partnership with Academia

Suitability - Who should attend?

You will need five relevant, exam-based GCSEs at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or above, including English language and maths.

In addition to A Level entry criteria you will need to met individual subject entry requirements.

Although BTEC qualifications and coursework-based GCSEs may be useful for specific subjects, they would normally be taken into account only once the basic entry requirements have been met.

Additional, specific GCSE grades are necessary for many of the subjects.
