This couse is perfect if you have just left school and are looking to develop your skills and train for a career as a professional Carpenter. It is a practical course, giving you the skills from forming simple joints, fitting hinges, locks to fixing Skirting boards and Architraves all to a top professional standard. You will get the opportunity to take part in real work projects for employer clients, giving you the skills and confidence to move on to the next leve of your course or in to work. You will study in our large, professional industry-standard workshops - where you will work in a range of areas which simulate the interior and exterior of a house and office. You will cover these topics on your course: Carpentry - access equipment, preperation of Materials, Measuring and cutting, forming joints. Manual Handling - lifting and moving techniques Personal Work Skills - Personal Protective Equipment, conduct and work skills Step up to English and Maths - classes to improve basic skills Health & Safety - safe working practices and basic legislation All our qualifications incorporate Maths and English which are essential if you plan to work within the construction industry.
