Course description
If you are looking to further your career in health and healthcare then this module will be given you valuable insight and specific skills to increase your confidence and abilities to lead and manage a service improvement by assessing the drivers of the change and applying a flexible yet assertive leadership style while working through the different phases of project management and managing the challenges of project delivery.
What's covered in the course?
Through face-to-face classes and formative learning activities, students will have the opportunity to understand the knowledge-base for the need for a change, analyse the interface between theory and practice, and reflect on the project’s transferability to other areas of relevant practice.
Course structure
You will choose a service improvement project within their areas of study and develop a written proposal demonstrating leadership effectiveness coupled with a rigorous application of project management principles. This service improvement project provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their capacity for independent learning and their ability to make an innovative contribution to applied leadership and management change theory within their chosen discipline. This proposal will ultimately prepare students confidently for undertaking a Project Management for an MSc Dissertation.
