Why study this pathway programme?
- The School of Media’s facilities don’t just look like those in the industry – they’re used by the industry! The School’s permanent green screen studio is one of the largest in the UK.
- If you want to study Media and Communication, you have the option of specialising within your chosen area: Music, PR, Radio or Television.
- One of the degrees this pathway leads to is a two-year fast-track course in Video Game Development.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Students need to have: 24 UCAS tariff points at a minimum of GCE A/AS-level or equivalent in at least two subjects for course duration with 1-semester or GCSE grading pre-2018: 5 GCSE passes grades A* - E, with at least 3 grades at C or above. Only 1 grade E permitted. GCSE grading from 2018: 5 GCSE passes grades 2 to 9, with at least 3 grade 4 results. Only one grade 2 permitted. OR 20 UCAS tariff points at a minimum of GCE A/AS-level or equivalent in at least two subjects for course duration with 2-semester (and 3-semester, where applicable) Or 5 GCSE passes or equivalent, with a minimum grade B average - including Mathematics at grade C (grade 4 under the new grading structure) for Stage 1 University Foundation (leading to MAcc/MEng/MSci).
