Course description
This qualification is suitable for you if you are considering a career in caring for children. This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. Learners could also progress on to CACHE Level 2 Early Years courses
Content
Units include:
Practical health and safety when with young children
Craft activities for young children
Understanding play for early learning
Sharing learning experiences with children
Growth and development of young children
Human growth and development
Respecting and valuing children
Healthy living
Healthy eating for families
Confidence building for the young child through play
Listening to and talking with a young child
Assessment
Learners must achieve a total of 37 credits: 25 credits from mandatory group A, 12 credits from optional group B.
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task set by CACHE.
Progression
This qualification allows progression on to the CACHE Level 2 Early Years course
