This course introduces the issues facing forensic and management personnel after a mass fatality incident, and the procedures and protocols in place to help the return to normality.

What you will learn
On successful completion of the module you will be able to:
- Categorise the different types of mass fatality incidents and confront the different problems and procedures associated with each
- Describe the different government and NGO bodies involved in both national and international incidents and distinguish their responsibilities
- Recognise the different roles of individuals on the site of the incident, how they are controlled and what techniques each uses
- Recognise the need for sensitive handling of the relatives of victims, evaluate the stages of the grieving process and judge the correct ways of handling their needs
- Assess the suitability and effectiveness of different management protocols and devise improvements
- Accurately complete and reconcile Interpol standardized Ante-Mortem and Post-Mortem forms.
