Course description
Our 4 week (20 day) NVQ Level 2 plastering course is the course that will set you up to becoming a qualified working plasterer in the construction industry. It will allow you to work on any job anywhere learning all aspects of solid plastering. You will also learn what is required for working on British construction sites as a plasterer. The cost of this course is inclusive of all training, NVQ registration, on-site assessment and certification. The qualification is assessed in your workplace.
Goldtrowel can teach you to plaster (commonly known as Skimming or Skim) in just 1 day, however to master the art of plastering it will take much longer, so the truth is that the more it is practiced the better and more consistent you will get, during your 20 day plastering course with us, you will skim finish plaster multiple times, this be in different scenarios resulting in you being able to skim plaster to a professional paintable finish, you will also have enough time to properly learn the other traits of Solid Plastering, this is the minimum length course we recommend for someone wanting to start a career as a Plasterer and have the recognised qualification to prove it, the NVQ Level 2 is this qualification.
During training please feel free to ask any questions you have, we actually welcome your questions, and remember there is no such thing as a `stupid` question! your training will not be rushed, but be aware plaster waits for no-one, it sets when it sets, this is one of the key skills you will learn during your training, this is why you will be allocated your own room where the set times can be learnt and understood, the walls and ceilings you will plaster are of the same standard found in domestic homes, which truth be told are not flat, not square and generally out of shape, the difference between skimming plasterboard and skimming existing plaster of any type is huge.

Lastly you will be learning how to quantify, select and price the job your doing, whether this is for your own personal plastering job or someone else.
The third week follows suit with the previous 2 weeks, but each room, wall or ceiling you plaster during this week will become more problematic and bigger, you will start using some specialist tools, commonly associated with professional plastering, such as speed skims, flexi-trowels, plastic trowels, midget trowels, margin trowels and spatulas.
