Course description
Neonatal sepsis affects approximately 4 in every 1000 live births and can result in fatal outcomes or long-term complications for the child. According to NICE guidelines, midwives, health visitors, and other healthcare professionals should consider the possibility of sepsis when patients present with signs or symptoms suggestive of infection. However, diagnosing sepsis can be challenging. This module provides an overview of the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of neonatal sepsis, along with guidance on recognizing sepsis in older children.
