Sleep Medicine for Mental Health and General Practitioners

There is increasing awareness of the importance of sleep to living healthy lives, and many patients report significant distress and disability related to their sleep. Nonetheless, sleep medicine is infrequently part of medical school curricula, and there is an urgent need to provide better assessment and treatment.

This course is aimed at clinicians working in primary care and mental health settings, and requires no previous experience in sleep medicine. You will learn how to develop a pragmatic, clinically oriented approach to recognising, assessing, and managing common sleep problems encountered in everyday practice. You will gain an understanding of normal sleep, and bust some of the myths and hype around sleep.

The course will be delivered by specialists in sleep, using a blend of lectures, interactive exercises, and case studies.
