Course description
Health & Safety Awareness (HSA)
Our Health and Safety Awareness Course (HSA) course is for you if you’re considering or already working within the construction and civil engineering industry.
The purpose of the CITB Site Safety Plus course is to highlight potential hazards when working on-site whilst also providing practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. The course covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety are being put at risk.
The course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all operatives on site. At the end of the course, you will have an understanding of the need to prevent accidents, health, and safety law, how your role fits into the control and management of the site, risk assessments, and method statements, performing safely and asking for advice and how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident.
Successful completion of the CITB: Site Site Safety Plus course can be used as a prerequisite for the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB): Operative, health, safety, and environment touch screen test or just as repeat refresher training.
The course is the first step towards a CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card) and to the progressive CITB Site Safety Plus courses that range from operative training up to Supervisor, Site Manager, and Director Health and Safety courses.
