Course description
This creative and fun course is for those who would enjoy spending a day in the stunning Plumpton College ancient woodlands cooking up a creative feast enhanced with locally foraged ingredients. Learn all about local edible plants and campfire cooking skills to share with family, friends or in Forest Schools. The focus is to help you and others reconnect with the outdoors through traditional knowledge and the beauty and richness of nature. The day will cover finding and identifying some local ingredients to use in creating a range of seasoned breads cooked over a fire. Working with what is in season in the woodlands we will decide on the best cooking delights, it could be jams, jellies, fritters or a range of drinks. This is day will give you plenty of time to relax and enjoy the beautiful woodlands, meet new and interesting people, learn some native plants and develop cooking skills that have been used to nourished hungry folk for thousands of years.
You can also choose to attend our other workshop courses with us. Other workshops are planned throughout the year.
