Course description

Organizations do not exist in isolation; time and again, they interact with stakeholders and the environment in which they carry on business. Thus, corporate responsibility is a medium that aids an organization’s accountability to relevant stakeholders and public members. At the same time, sustainability leadership provides an organization with a competitive edge and relevant opportunities.

What are the styles of sustainability leadership?

Individuals as leaders vary in their approaches to leading people, motivating, and executing plans, thus, giving room for various styles of sustainability leadership. For one, the inclusive leadership style considers teamwork, collaboration, commitment building, and democratic approaches and upholds the culture of support and achievement. Second, is the innovative style of leadership that throws in passion and charisma. The third is the creative style of leadership that allows a leader to design, orchestrate, innovate, change, and transform a system. In addition, altruism is a sustainability leadership style where a leader focuses on the common good, and the radical leadership style comprises taking risks, activism, and challenging the conventional practice.

Is there any difference between corporate responsibility and philanthropy?

A key difference between corporate responsibility and philanthropy is the sustainability of the former. Corporate responsibility goes to the very foundation of the operations of a business or organization, and it is expressly laid out and contributes to the bottom line of a company. On the other hand, philanthropy is whimsical and depends on company directors’ approval.

The Rcademy Sustainability Leadership and Corporate Responsibility Training Course will make participants conscious of their organization’s influence in society, that is, in economic, social, and environmental aspects. The course highlights the essence of sustainability leadership and corporate responsibility and the opportunities they provide for innovations, continuous growth, and competitive advantage in business. Focus is also on skills necessary to sharpen participants’ social impact and leadership ability.
