Course description
Creative Collage: On this short course you will start to explore and combine a variety of collage techniques using found images, drawing, painting and paper to create images. You will begin looking at other artists who have worked with collage to investigate and understand how this process is used to convey their ideas and meanings, going on to develop your own series of mixed media work. What should I be able to do by the end of the course?
� Have an understanding into the different ways collages can be made.
� Develop an eye for collecting papers and materials and textures
� Learn the art of experimenting with torn and cut paper.
� Paint your own textures on paper to use in your collage.
� Produce collage with �found objects�
� Produce figurative and representational collages using emements from newspapers, photography and magazines
Course Outcomes
* You will learn about other collage artists' work and their techniques
* You will learn how to use / consider basic composition, themes and symbolism
* You will learn how to establish a 'library' of collage materials from everyday objects
* You will learn how to explore and experiment using a wide range of colour, texture and tone within your work
* You will take part in supportive feedback sessions on your peers' work
* You will take part in a group discussion to help develop your class work into more extensive projects beyond the course
If you are a returning learner you will:
* Discuss your aims with your tutor and devise an achievable goal for developing new direction/s for your work within and potentially beyond the course

Suitability - Who should attend?
Who is the course for? Anyone who would like to develop skills of working with the medium of collage to produce artworks. Open to all. No previous experience required although lots of enthusiasm. You can start from scratch or increase and develop your knowledge and skills.
