Course description

Knowledge is the key to prevention!

Drilling Well Control training has been developed by the industry and is for personnel in critical well control roles on offshore drilling installations or onshore operations.

Our Level 3 based Drilling Well Control course is essential training for those currently working in a role that is expected to shut-in a well.

The course aims to reinforce and improve your existing knowledge and appreciation of the various stages of shutting-in a well; from kick detection to shutting in the well, to monitoring once the well is shut in and monitoring the well-kill operation.

In less than forty hours, this course will assist you in achieving the learning outcomes that have been developed for each of the learning objectives contained in the syllabus. The outcome indicates how each learning objective will be fulfilled with a detailed description of the skills a student must have at the end of the course. These learning outcomes are the basis for our Safetyman Academy assessment test.
