Course description
This qualification will provide school leavers with an excellent and advanced level of knowledge in Health and Social Care. The Extended Diploma takes two academic years to complete. You will study units in the areas of anatomy, psychology, sociology and practice. There is a placement element of the course requiring 30 hours of placement in the first year and 100 hours in the second year. Therefore any student who wishes to continue to employment after this qualification would be well placed to do so. There is a high science element in this course and learners will gain an excellent foundation for further study in the health sector.
You will be assessed by coursework, plus three externally assessed examinations and one externally assessed controlled assessment, across two years. This qualification can lead to a vast range of careers, and you can advance to employment or university.
