Course description
This course is designed for those who gained the knowledge three years ago. The MHFA course enables you to refresh your skills and knowledge. It is the same as you refresh your knowledge in 3 years’ time if you are a physical first aider.
MHFAiders® training doesn’t stop when the course comes to an end. We provide continuous support for MHFAiders® – well beyond initial certification – so people are confident, empowered, and motivated to carry out the role
MHFAiders® get automatic 24/7 digital support through the MHFAiders Support App®. From there they will find exclusive resources, ongoing learning opportunities and the benefit of joining England’s largest community of trained MHFAiders®

Every learner will be provided with the MHFAider Support App®:
Resource library of toolkits, guidance, animations, and core mental health concepts to support the role of anMHFAider®
Signposting database through Hub ofHope to find local and national mental health services for additional support
Reminders for well-being check-ins with people MHFAiders® are supporting
Secure conversation logging for you to make reflective notes to record and reflect while protecting confidentiality.
It is worth mentioning that the course also encourages self-care, giving people the tools to look after their own and others' mental health. Promotes equity and understanding around mental health from different perspectives. Gives increased confidence to have a supportive conversation about mental health
This course can be undertaken online or in person. The MHFA training takes 4 hours and we train up to 25 people per group.
The learning does not stop after course completion. You will be provided with the MHFAider SupportApp®, where you will find exclusive resources and ongoing learning opportunities, you will be able to keep your learning and confidence alive, quickly reference something and understand what is current with mental health and well-being support.
