Course description
The aim of the course is to introduce students to Kurmanji Kurdish and to help them to acquire basic communicative skills. The course is taught in English and Kurdish and covers the four essential skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The topics taught are reinforced by homework and a mid-term revision session to consolidate the material introduced during the first half of the term. The progress made by students is checked by an end-of-term test, following a one hour consolidation session. In this course, five tenses are discussed. Students who have completed the homework and attended classes regularly will be able to communicate in simple sentences using these tenses and will have a basic working vocabulary.
