This course will cover practical art and craft based subjects; Business studies and Self-employment. The first week you will need to bring with you a good sized box that you can use over the coming terms to keep all your crafting items in. In the first three weeks you will cover the box in decoupage – learning about planning, design layout, technical knowhow, problem solving and sharing ideas. This will become your personal box that you can use each week – make sure it is big enough but when full not too heavy to carry. Every week you will be given a list of items to bring and this will help you build up a useful array of crafting equipment that will be useful for many different craft activities at home and during the course.
Two hours will be spent in a relaxing atmosphere creating various crafted items from new, pre-used or upcycled items. Each session will generally start with a demonstration/ explanation of techniques and samples. Learners will then work on their own projects with tutor support. This course is non-accredited. At the end, you will receive a College Certificate. There will be continuous assessments with verbal and written feedback. On completion, you can run a business or upcycle home or office in current interior styles. Create gifts for friends and family.
