Course description
This course is aimed at anyone who is setting up a website or developing web content as well as those interested in getting a better understanding of the many technologies used to deliver web content using WordPress. You will learn how to install and use WordPress to build a website. Students will gain experience of adding and configuring themes, using widgets and installing plugins. You will have an opportunity to create child themes and use e-commerce plugins.
The course will cover: Installing WordPress; Introduction to WordPress; How to update WordPress; Understand the Backend; Adding a page; Creating new users; Understanding user roles; Adding a Theme; How to use widgets; Making a custom menu; How to install a plugin and Understand the WordPress file and directory structure. Additional web authoring modules include: HTML5 and CSS Fundamentals; Web Development / Testing Server and Web Developer Coding Tools.
The course includes continual assessments throughout the course with both practical and quiz exercises. Course certificates of completion are provided. On completion, you can move onto further web design and authoring courses, Dreamweaver and Basic Programming.
