Course description
Introduction
If you see yourself as an electrician, this course gives you the foundation you need and covers electrical installation technology and principles, plus practical work. You'll get a broad introduction to most of the materials and techniques used in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations in the UK. You'll have practice in installing circuits and materials on brick and concrete walls and plasterboard ceilings. The relevant regulations will be covered throughout the course. You'll have visits to trade shows to help you see the latest developments in the industry. Our guest speakers are already successful in their roles and their advice will give you the inside view of what it's like to succeed and what employers are looking for.
Assessment
Continual assessment and you must pass all units.
Next Steps
Progress to Level 3 in electrical installation or find a job as an electrician's mate in the electrical contracting or maintenance industries.

Three GCSEs A*-D/9-3 including English, with maths A*-C/9-4; OR a relevant Level 1 qualification plus English and maths assessed by us to be at an appropriate level.
