Course description

This module forms part of the postgraduate certificate pathway in Computed Tomography (CT). However it is suitable for diagnostic and therapy radiographers to study as an associate student or as part of the MSc Medical Imaging or Imaging in Medicine course. The module will develop the student's ability to critically analyze and evaluate a broad range of computed tomography (CT) imaging applications and protocols.

Lectures by recognised clinical experts will introduce the students to a broad range of CT applications and protocols. Tutorials will be used to critically evaluate and reflect on protocols used in clinical practice and advocated by current literature. Directed study will be used to guide the student in their preparation of the presentations that they will be required to present to tutors and peers. The VLE will be used to support the students learning and to facilitate sharing and collaboration in problem solving.  The student will undertake work-based projects/case studies, both written and oral, as part of learning process which will include a critical appraisal of published literature.
